Functional Area:
PIM is the pioneer of executive development in Pakistan and specializes in the training and development of managers from business and industry. Since PIM’s inception in 1954, more than 200,000 managers have participated in its management training courses. PIM conducts short duration training courses in morning time (for 2 to 5 days) and professional diploma and certifications program in the evening (3 to 4 months duration) in the following areas:

Management & Administration:

PIM was established by the Government of Pakistan to promote management development in the country.  It functions under the Ministry of Industries & Production with an autonomous Board of Governors (BoG) appointed by the Federal Government.  The Secretary, Ministry of Industries & Production is the Chairman of the BoG.  The operating head of PIM is the Director, who is responsible for administrative and academic affairs and is also a member of the Board of Governors.

Revenue Sources:

PIM is a non-profit organization and its financial requirements are derived from course fees, contributions from member organizations and government grant.  It has been a recipient of technical assistance from many international agencies and is widely recognized at home and abroad as the country’s leading management development institute.

Offices:

PIM operates out of its three  custom built training centers.  Main training center and head office is based in Karachi, whereas, one branch office/training center (wholly owned)  is based in Lahore. The second branch office/training center is in Islamabad (at IIU old campus, Faisal Masjad).

International Collaborations:

PIM’s linkage in the past with the Harvard Business School and with Arthur D Little, PE International, Ashridge Management College and American Management Association (AMA) gives it strong international support.

Who We Are:

Our Resources:

PIM’s faculty consists of a multidisciplinary group of highly qualified and trained counselors having a blend of academic and industrial experience.  They are experts in their field of specialization, many of whom hold advanced foreign qualifications.  The full time faculty is supported by a group of visiting faculty drawn from business and industry.

Our purpose-built facilities include fully equipped training centers at Karachi and Lahore with a capacity to train 200 managers per week.
