INTRODUCTION

Orientation for Board : the listed companies (code of corporate governance) regulations, 2019 and the public sector companies (corporate governance) rules 2013, as amended in 2017 require that all listed and public sector companies shall make appropriate arrangements to carry out orientation for their directors (Executive, Non Executives and Independent Directors) to acquaint Board members with these regulations, applicable laws, their duties and responsibilities to enable them to effectively govern the affairs of the company and act in good faith and in the best interest of the company.

FACILITATOR

Mr. Abdul Rahim Suriya FCA FCMA is a coach and a trainer for corporate governance for Directors’ Training Programs in Pakistan. He is a former president ICAP and served as council member of ICAP for 16 years and IFAC education board for 6 years. He was a consultant for world bank for ROSC AA in 2016.

He is presently the chairman of the Joint sub committee of ICAP and ICMAP for best corporate report award and best sustainability reporting award . He has authored a book “A Guide to Business Decision Making”. He is an independent director on the boards of few listed companies.
At present he is a partner at Suriya, Nauman Rehan & Co, chartered accountants.
