COURSE DESCRIPTION
In today’s dynamic business environment, organizational changes and methods of addressing them are prevalent as we seek to stabilize and sustain transformation across locations. The way businesses manage change and how successful they are at it, depends largely on the nature of business, the change and the people involved. It is also dependent on how well the organization and people understand the need for the change and the process involved. Applying change management activities can be instrumental in realizing goals for planned and unplanned changes both internally and externally. It also helps diagnose problems associated with the transition before they become a crisis. Therefore, it is essential to first understand some of the theories and methodologies pertaining to change management.
Change can be a time of exciting opportunity for some and a time of loss, disruption or threat for others. How such responses to change are managed can be the difference between surviving and flourishing in a work or business environment. Change is an inherent characteristic of any organization and like it or not, all organizations whether in the public or private sector must change to remain relevant. Change can originate from external sources through technological advances, social, political or economic pressures, or it can come from inside the organization as a management response to a range of issues such as changing client needs, costs or a human resource or a performance issue.
The core focus of this two days course is to learn intervention strategies designed to cope with systems-related change and be familiarized with managerial competencies associated with effectively managing change.
