PIM's  DIPLOMAS FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

MESSAGE FROM DIRECTOR, PIM

It gives me great pleasure to announce the 5th intake of PIM’s Diplomas for Professional Development in specialized areas of Management, starting from  November 20, 2006.

“The only constant is Change” and the rest is changing. The challenges of 21st century and the rise of global market have created specific demands on organizations to constantly work on improving their performance and operating efficiencies. This can only be done through a continuous drive for the up-gradation of their Human Resources.

Working executives therefore, need to periodically enhance their skills and knowledge not only to improve performance in their present positions but also increase their ability to compete tomorrow.

Keeping in view, the needs and requirements of practicing managers, PIM started its Diploma programs in September 2003 in specialized areas of Management, which have enabled participants to acquire latest techniques and information in their fields in relatively short period.

This is in addition to PIM’s Management Development Program, which has been running successfully for the last 52 years, and its evening MBA program, which has been launched in 1998.

These Diplomas are designed and taught by PIM’s highly experienced faculty as well as industry professionals.

The duration of these Diplomas is four months. At the conclusion of the classes Participants have to pass examination to acquire the Diploma for Professional Development in their respective areas of specializations.

PIM with a track record of 52 years has proven that career development of individuals takes place when training is a triangular relationship between individual managers, their organizations and PIM. This will be the underlying cornerstone of PIM’s Diplomas. I am pleased to invite the working managers and the organizations, to participate in these Diplomas and benefit from this unique opportunity.

DIPLOMA IN SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

Supply Chain Management represents a significant change in how most organizations view themselves. Traditionally, firms view themselves as having customers and suppliers. Historically, a firm did not consider the potential for either its supplier or its customer to become a partner. The power of supply chain management is its potential to include the customers and suppliers as partners in supplying the goods or services provided by a supply chain.

Supply Chain has been defined as all processes starting from the supply of initial raw materials, to the ultimate consumption of the finished product. These include all the processes linking various supplier-user companies. Supply Chain Management (SCM), therefore is the design, maintenance, and operation of supply chain processes for satisfaction of end user needs.
