essential component of success in the modern business environment. Nowadays,
nearly every organization, from large multinational corporations to small
local businesses to non-profit organizations require skilled communicators.
It is because more than 75% of managerial time is spent in communication.
With effective communication, managers can make people, departments and
organizations proficient and competent. To meet the tremendous client demand, PIM
now announces its professional diploma in Communication and Interpersonal
Skills THE
OBJECTIVE: This
Professional Diploma is designed to enable managers to improve the quality of
their communication in managing their teams, departments and
organizations. The program will help managers learn effective business
correspondence and efficient use of information. This Diploma will help participants
develop networking, public speaking, impression management and organizational
communication skills and also helps to

Public Speaking TRAINING METHODOLOGY: Class
lectures, case studies, report, and assignments. The participants’
performance will be judged by quizzes, assignments, report presentation,
monthly exams and a final exam. Successful participants will be awarded the
Professional Diploma. WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Employees
at all levels and anyone who needs to communicate to the others in a more
productive way. COURSE DURATION/DAYS/FEE The
program is of four-month duration. Classes will be conducted twice a week
(Wednesday & Thursday) in the evening from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. The fee for
the entire program is Rs. 25,000/-. ADMISSION INFORMATION
ELIGIBILITY Admission
to PIM’s Diplomas for Professional
Development is given totally on merit. The candidate must possess a
bachelor's degree from any recognized university. He/she should have a
minimum of two years working experience and preferably be working in an
organization. If a candidate has passed only FA/FSC or equivalent but has
more than 5 years experience, his case may be considered for admission by
PIM. Admission to the Diploma will be
cancelled if at any time, during the course of study, the documents of the
candidate are found to be incorrect/false/invalid. SELECTION
AND ADMISSION PROCEDURE Admission to the Diploma is based on a systematic selection procedure.
Following
documents are to be submitted: a) Candidates possessing Bachelor’s Degree
must submit Application Form (duly filled), along with photocopy of
Bachelor’s Degree and proof of experience. b) Candidates who do not have Bachelor’s
Degree must submit Application Form (duly filled), along with photocopy of
Intermediate Certificate and proof of minimum experience of five years. PIM
reserves the right to accept or reject any candidate at the interview stage
without assigning reasons. APPLICATION
FORMS Application
form can be obtained from PIM, Management House, Shahrah-e-Iran, Clifton,
Karachi, from 8.30 am to 8.00 pm. The form must be submitted in original
alongwith above-mentioned documents/testimonials at PIM, Karachi.
Last date for submission is April 25, 2011 (Limited seats). Form can also be

AND ENROLMENT Participants
who clear the interview will be granted admission subject to payment of fee
within a time limit prescribed by PIM. STATEMENT OF RULES
& REGULATIONS ATTENDANCE Students
are required to attend regularly all lectures, computer laboratory sessions,
seminars and fieldwork as may be specified. In case, a student accumulates
more than the allowed number of absences, he will not be eligible for the
Diploma for Professional Development. ·
The provision of absences is only for
emergencies. This cannot be used on the first day of the Diploma or before
the final examination. ·
A student is allowed a maximum of 6
absences during the entire Diploma. ·
Students are required to be in time for
their sessions. After 10 minutes of the start of class, the entrant will be
marked late. ·
Only 6 late attendances will be
allowed. ·
It is expected that the students will
maintain proper dress code at all times. WITHDRAWAL
FROM THE DIPLOMA Students
are not allowed to withdraw from the Diploma. If a student cannot continue
the Diploma his/her fee will be forfeited. CONDUCT
AND DISCIPLINE A
disciplinary action, leading to rustication, will be taken against students
whose conduct is found objectionable at any time during the course of study.
Reference will be made to PIM’s code of conduct. FINANCIAL
INFORMATION The
fee for Diploma is Rs. 25,000/- (lump sum). PIM offers no discount in fee.
PIM reserves the right to increase fee/charges without prior notice. EVALUATION AND
GRADING The
performance of students is evaluated through continuous observation of a
student’s performance in the Diploma – class participation, submission of
assignments, quizzes and exercises. The
student will be examined through three hourly exams conducted at the end of
the first three months and a final exam at the end of the program. Total
marks for passing the Diploma will be 60 out of a total of 100. Students
who do not meet the attendance or any other eligibility criteria will not be
allowed to appear in the final examination. The
following grading plan will be applicable for the Diploma: A 87 - 100 B+ 81 -86 B 72 - 80 C+ 66 - 71 C 60 - 65 F below 60 Students
who are unable to appear for the final exam are required to submit a written
application stating the reason for not appearing for the exam. PIM reserves
the right to approve or deny such applications. If approved, the student will
be allowed to sit for the exam within one month. Failure to do so, the
student will only be given a Certificate of Attendance. IMPORTANT
